Lambretta Series 2, Li and TV175
October 1959 saw the Lambretta Series 2 come onto the market. The TV 175 was launched with the slogan Lambrettability and was £20 cheaper than its predecessor. See exciting new places, enjoy exciting new experiences ... make exciting new friends with Lambrettability. Adverts featured a picture of a man and woman on a beach next to a Lambretta. The initial price was £189 17s 6d.
But it was another 10 months before the Li 150 and Li 125 went into production.
Adverts also went on to state "Lambretta Britains most popular Scooter". This was the truth, as the Li 150 Series 2 was the biggest selling model they ever made, with the 150 and the 125 versions over 270,000 examples were made. Initial prices were £169 17s 6d for the 150 and £157 19s 6d for the 125.
