Lambretta Series 1, Li and TV175
The Lambretta Series 1 TV 175 (Turismo Veloce) was launched in April of 1958.
8 months later the 150 c.c. and then, after another 2 months, the 125 c.c. Both these latter models were an instant hit with the buying public. A new design of body and engine saw the Lambretta take many of these features to all subsequent models.
The new 125 c.c., 150 c.c. and 175 c.c. engines, for the first time, featured a horizontal cylinder, chain drive and four speed gearbox.
The 125 was available in blue or two tone grey, whilst the 150 had more options of main body work in grey, with a second colour choice to the side panels and front horn cast of either Coffee, Green, Blue or Red. This machine was to set the future pattern for all Lambretta's and both the 125 and 150 were a commercial success for Innocenti with over 150,000 examples being made of both engine types.
The 150 model could originally be bought for £174 17s 6d, with the 125 version only costing £115 17s 6d.
The TV 175 could be bought for £209 17s 6d.
