Lambretta Models A, B, C, D, E, LC and LD
A 1958 Lambretta LD 150 was the first scooter I owned. The vintage Lambretta was given to me as a big pile of bits, in the corner of a shed. "If you can put it together, you can have it" I was told. So I did! I passed my test on it and it gave me many years of good service. Unfortunately I have not got any photos of it - white with bright orange panels!!!
A few facts about the production of the early vintage Lambretta scooters:
Production of Model M Lambretta started in 1947, followed closely the Lambretta A and Lambretta B.
Two new models, Lambretta C and Lambretta LC were introduced in January 1949.
In December 1951 two new types were ready, Lambretta D, a low-cost model and Lambretta LD, more elegant and linear.
Innocenti built 110,186 LD Mk 2 between 1954 and 1957. Lambretta Concessionaires claimed to be selling 5,000 per month during 1956/7.
20,835 Lambretta D Mk 3 were manufactured during its one year of production, 1956.
The cheaper Lambretta E was designed in 1953.
